Three more names added to the growing ensemble cast of Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, his upcoming sci-fi movie from a screenplay by brother Jonathan Nolan. The epic project is already set to star Matthew McConaughey, Casey Affleck, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, and will also feature Oscar winning legend Ellen Burstyn (seen above in Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain), Timothee Chalamet who played the Vice President's son on "Homeland" and rising young actress Mackenzie Foy, last seen in The Conjuring and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn as Bella and Edward's kid. Looks like the cast is coming together.
Nolan's Interstellar, currently in pre-production with shooting scheduled to start later this fall, will "depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding" based on physicist Kip Thorne's theories of gravity fields, wormholes and several hypotheses that Albert Einstein was never able to prove. From her work with Aronofsky in Requiem for a Dream and The Fountain, to The Exorcist and Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Ellen Burstyn is one of my favorite actresses and I love the work she still does today. I love seeing this cast come together because I feel like we're witnessing history in the making as Nolan completes his early development on this sci-fi movie that might just be the pinnacle of the next era.
We'll continue to keep an eye on development of Nolan's Interstellar and its cast, which is being finalized now. Thanks to The Wrap & THR on the latest. No roles have been specified, as the plot is being kept secret. In addition to Burstyn, Chalamet, Foy and McConaughey, the cast includes Michael Caine and Bill Irwin. Interstellar is scheduled for release November 2014 next year. Stay tuned for news on this sci-fi project.

I'm extremely excited for this film. Although personally, I'd much rather have it and the 3rd Hobbit film switch places. Have The Hobbit open in November, and let this open the weekend before Christmas(a la Titanic and Avatar)...I think that would give this film huge box office potential.
