Elysium

Briefly: Because an epic sci-fi adventure deserves to be seen and heard in the best possible format, TriStar Pictures and Media Rights Capital have just announced that Neill Blomkamp's film Elysium starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster will hit IMAX screens around the world when the film hits theaters everywhere on August 9th. The film will be digitally remastered into the giant screen format for the best possible picture and sound. "Rory Bruer, president, Worldwide Distribution for Sony Pictures says, “Elysium is one of the most highly anticipated films of the summer, so we’re pleased that audiences will have the chance to see Neill Blomkamp’s vision for the future in IMAX’s immersive format." Sounds great!

"Because an epic sci-fi adventure deserves to be seen and heard in the best possible format......." Translation: Because we know that an IMAX presentation generates additional revenue...........

Well yeah... but who doesn't love epic sci-fi on an IMAX? As long as it's not 3D, I'm happy to fork out a few extra bucks.

I don't know why but every time I see the visuals for this movie I think about the video game Halo, on a more serious note I'm looking forward to this movie.

I never played HALO, but I do know it featured a large ring floating in Space. So I guess maybe when you see the space station Elysium, it reminds you of The Ring from HALO. And remember, Blomkamp was going to direct the HALO film, and supposedly used some weapon props in D9.

You're right, but not only the ring, the landscapes and some other things as well, and that's not bad I mean it's wonderful imagery and not to mention that if Halo was ever officially made into a movie Bompkamp would be the perfect guy to make it, he has a great directing style.
