Entertainment One Finally Picks Up 'Knights of Badassdom' for Release
by Ethan Anderton
July 25, 2013
We've been excited about the fantasy action comedy Knights of Badassdom since 2011 when the film held a panel at Comic-Con. The trailer was released online shortly thereafter, but the film has yet to be released. Just earlier this year we learned why. It seems there have been disagreements as to the completion of the film in post-production with producer Wade Bradley clashing with director Joe Lynch, supposedly removing him from the editing room and leaving him out of any decisions regarding the film. We're not sure if this was resolved, but the film has now been picked up by Entertainment One (eOne) for US distribution.
As of now there's no specific release date, but the film will hit theaters and VOD at the same time. The delay might actually get more eyes on the project if only because of the presence of "Game of Thrones" and X-Men: Days of Future Past star Peter Dinklage in the cast. The story follows group of LARPers (Live Action Role Players) who inadvertently summon a deadly succubus during the middle of a big fantasy battle and must fight her in the real world. Ryan Kwanten, Summer Glau, Steve Zahn, Danny Pudi and Margarita Levieva also star in the film. We're happy the film is finally getting released, but we're not sure if the film is Lynch's cut, or the producer's cut. We'll update if we get clarification.

Joe Lynch just posted this on Twitter: "Till I get a call... #NMC" (Not my cut)

Presumably it will be Bradley's re-cut and not Joe Lynch's one. Still I can't wait to watch Knights of Badassdom! I think it is a crime against humanity and good taste that Summer Glau is not in 3 blockbuster film a year!
