About Time Trailer

"I hope I see you again?" "You will. My whole life depends on it." Wow this looks amazing. I'm a sucker for a heartfelt, wonderful Richard Curtis story and this time he's outdone himself. Curtis' latest is a film called About Time, a love story about a man who learns he can time travel and uses that to go back and get things right in his life. It has a feeling of Notting Hill meets Groundhog Day, but with all of its own quirks. Mainly that Domhnall Gleeson stars along with Rachel McAdams. There are so many wonderful, sweet, funny, nervous moments in this trailer. I cannot wait to see this. Everything I was hoping for and so much to love.

Watch the first international teaser trailer for Richard Curtis' About Time, originally from MSN UK:

Love doesn’t always go to plan, but imagine you had a way to redo all your mistakes? At the age of 21, Tim (Gleeson) is told an incredible family secret by his father - that all the men in his family have the ability to travel in time. He can relive any moment in his life to try things differently until he gets them just right.

About Time is both written & directed by acclaimed filmmaker Richard Curtis, who has only directed two films prior: Pirate Radio and the classic Love Actually; however he's written the screenplay for Notting Hill, Bridget Jones's Diary and War Horse, too. Universal Pictures currently has Richard Curtis' About Time scheduled to arrive in limited US theaters November 1st, after the UK release in September. Look good?

Rachel McAdams must have a fascination with time travel....... I'm still not sure how I feel about time travel/romantic comedy mixes. This trailer has similar comedic elements to a Chris O'Dowd flick called "Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel" which I really liked so fingers crossed they get it right.

Not sure I approve of romantic comedies sneaking into Sci-Fi...

Time Travel is one of my favorite topics in fact I have been working on a book about if for well over 6 years and it just seems no one REALLY knows what to do with it anymore. It's ashame with time and time travel there is so much potential! Looper was good yes but other than that nothing else comes to mind. Men in Black 3 used it but just as a device and wasn't truly nessaccary although the film was very enjoyable at least for me. I just hope that in time time travel will be respected and understood more. I'm not entirely hopeful for this film but it may surprise me!

Good luck with your book. Hope it doesn't turn out like Looper or Men in Black 3

Thanks for that! Oh trust me I'm making sure this is more on par with HG Wells Novel The Time Machine mixed with the innovation of Back to the Future and Epicness of Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars. Every detail is crucial and I'm taking my time to make sure nothing is out of place!

12 Monkeys my friend.

Although it is a nice film I didn't think to mention it due to the fact I'm more concerned with where time travel is headed now and how it is perceived here in the 21st century and it doesn't appear to be headed in the right direction. Thanks for pointing out 12 monkeys though it is a great film at least in my eyes.

Guy can travel through time and does so in order to help himself fall in love with one woman? Lame. I would go and win the lottery and buy all the women in the world.

Sam on May 14, 2013

Trouble is some women cannot be bought

Davidreft on May 14, 2013

Maybe you're just more man than me, but I don't think I could date more than one woman, one is enough.

Domhnall Gleeson is one to watch. Alex, have you seen him in Dark Mirror? Fantastic short story. Gets timetravel ability, uses it to go back and sleep with Rachel McAdams repeatedly. Yup, this is plausible. It's the little details that make you believe in sci-fi stories

Cute. Looks like a good chick-flick. Plus, Nighy!

Well, that looked better than expected.

This looks "Doc Hollywood" good.
