"Everyone is fighting to get ahead." LD Entertainment has debuted a trailer for a film called Disconnect, an ensemble drama about how disconnected we all are in this world, thanks to all the technological devices we have, and "a group of people searching for human connections in today's wired world." Unfortunately this is one of the most boring topics to see on film, and this trailer does nothing to change that. The cast is lead by Jason Bateman, but includes many more: Hope Davis, Frank Grillo, Michael Nyqvist, Paula Patton, Andrea Riseborough, Colin Ford, Alexander Skarsgard and Max Thieriot. Give it a look.
Watch the first official trailer for Henry Alex Rubin's Disconnect, in high def from Apple:
A hard-working lawyer, attached to his cell phone, can't find the time to communicate with his family. A couple is drawn into a dangerous situation when secrets are exposed online. A widowed ex-cop struggles to raise a mischievous son who cyber-bullies a classmate. An ambitious journalist sees a career-making story in a teen that performs on an adult-only site. They are strangers, neighbors and colleagues and their stories collide in this riveting dramatic thriller about ordinary people struggling to connect in today's wired world.
Disconnect is directed by Henry Alex Rubin (of Murderball, Who Is Henry Jaglom?), from a screenplay by Andrew Stern. LD Entertainment will be releasing Disconnect in limited theaters on April 12th. Anyone?

I don't know what you're talking about Alex, that looks phenomenal and it's really nice to see Bateman show some dramatic acting chops for once.

Agreed about Bateman. I'm looking forward to seeing him get his more serious side on again.

Yes! It is very refreshing to see Bateman in a drama. I've always been a huge fan of his, but seeing him doing Comedy after Comedy was becoming too much.

Sorry Alex, I disagree. This is a very relevant topic, and an important issue going on in homes and work around the world, and I think this trailer really brings it to life. I'm definately interested in seeing this movie.

I agree with you as well Max: Identity theft, children amiss due to distant parenting, internet sex and scamming...Looks topical.

I'm guessing Alex doesn't like it because it's about social interaction. Now, if it had some spaceships...

I don't find this boring at all, the topic is one that's pretty serious within the real world and it looks to portray that message in a deep and meaningful way.

Agreed with everyone else here, as a father I am glad to see this very important topic getting some attention. Looks like this is your next Lincoln boring poster Alex..

This movie looks awesome, attention worthy, good to see this topic getting covered, have a younger sister who was being bullied via social media that has resulted in court case. Topic hits close to home. Alex understandably may only find it boring because how "Connected" he needs to stay(his job).

Cast. Sold. Me. The son from Crazy Stupid Love and the son from We Bought A Zoo...good to see them again.

This looks like a potential Oscar sleeper along the lines of American Beauty mashed up with Crash retold with the modern element of social media. It could just be a well done trailer, but as long as it doesn't get terribly off track and unrealistic towards the end this could be more than just a simple spring thriller (although its April release date is concerning. That usually shows that the studio doesn't have much faith in it.).

How the FUCK is this a boring topic? Its pretty much a reflection of our current zetigeist. If it only did not have Jason B in it. I cannot stand him. Really, one of the most overrated actors in this business making money. Still, movie looks good.
