After debuting at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, the acclaimed directorial debut from Joseph Gordon-Levitt is finally coming to theaters this fall, and the first trailer is here. The Dark Knight Rises star also wrote and stars in the film which follows a selfish modern-day Don Juan who struggles with an addiction to pornography as he attempts to find a woman that can compare to the sensation he gets from pleasuring himself through adult entertainment. Scarlett Johansson also stars in the film with Julianne Moore and Tony Danza (for an Angels in the Outfield reunion). The film is original, funny and just damn good.
Here's the first trailer for Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Don Jon, originally from Apple (via Film Stage):
Jon Martello (Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who also wrote and directed the film) is a strong, handsome, good old-fashioned guy with the ability to "pull" a different woman every weekend, but even the finest fling doesn't compare to the bliss he finds alone in front of the computer watching pornography. Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson) is a beautiful, good old-fashioned girl. Raised on romantic Hollywood movies, she's determined to find her Prince Charming and ride off into the sunset. Wrestling with good old-fashioned expectations of the opposite sex, Jon and Barbara struggle against a media culture full of false fantasies to try and find true intimacy. Relativity Media releases Don Jon on October 18th this fall. Good?

Damn I really want this movie to be great but I can't avoid thinking it might have amateur-directing flaws... hope I'm wrong.

Actually he got more raves for his directing style and the performances he got out of his cast than for the movie itself. Definitely looks worth seeing.

Looks to have a great cast and some great performances, but then again, you can't really expect anything less from JGL these days.

Looks hilarious in a crude, realistic way. No slapstick stuff or 'gags' here. I love it.

That surprisingly looks pretty good. Weird seeing Scarlett play a jersey shore, kinda ghetto white girl. Wonder how many famous pornstars are gonna get featured in this film. And on that note...would they (pornstars) make any sort of money having their faces featured in the film?
