A Teacher Trailer

"Are you okay?" Oscilloscope recently unveiled the trailer for Hannah Fidell's A Teacher, a Sundance / SXSW indie drama about a teacher and her relationship with one of her teenage students. Sound a bit like something you heard in the news recently? This isn't all too uncommon to see, strangely enough. A Teacher stars up-and-coming indie actress Lindsay Burdge, along with Will Brittain, Jennifer Prediger and Julie Dell Phillips, directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Hannah Fidell. If you're in the mood for something sensual and seductive and still taboo, give this a look. I haven't seen the film, but this is an enticing trailer.

Here's the full trailer for Hannah Fidell's A Teacher, originally debuted by The Dissolve:

Part psychological thriller and part provocative character study, A Teacher explores the unraveling of a young high school teacher, Diana (Burdge), after she begins an affair with one of her teenage students, Eric (Brittain). What starts as a seemingly innocent fling becomes increasingly complex as the beautiful and confident Diana gets fully consumed by her emotions, crossing boundaries and acting out in progressively startling ways. The film is the feature debut of New York-based filmmaker Hannah Fidell. It first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and also played SXSW in March. Just as students head back to school this fall, Oscilloscope Labs will release A Teacher theatrically and on VOD starting September 6th. Curious to see?

It's "From No Part Of Me Could I Summon A Voice" from the album "New History Warfare Vol. 2: Judges" by Colin Stetson, i guess. (link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_History_Warfare_Vol._2:_Judges)

It can join the ranks of films like 'The Reader', 'Notes on a Scandal' and 'To Die For' as far as films with similar subject matter. Also, the 'older woman with younger guy' story hasn't been done nearly as many times as the 'older guy with a younger girl' story. It seems like it's "cool" and natural in film for guys in their 40s and 50s to hook up with these gorgeous women in their 20s....yet to even have a woman who is in her late 30s or early 40s hooking up with a younger guy seems to have a weird stigma. I don't know, just rambling a bit.
