First Trailer for Woody Allen's 'Blue Jasmine' with Cate Blanchett
"No one wants to get out of here as fast as I do." He's back! The latest film from auteur Woody Allen, titled Blue Jasmine, is about to hit theaters this summer despite no major festival premiere or the usual pomp and circumstance he receives. Set mostly in San Francisco, Blue Jasmine has an ensemble cast but focuses primarily on Cate Blanchett as a New York housewife going through her own life crisis. The rest of the cast includes Alec Baldwin, Sally Hawkins, Bobby Cannavale, Louis C.K., Peter Sarsgaard and Michael Stuhlbarg. Blanchett looks like the best part about this, but Woody always has great ensembles.
Here's the first official trailer for Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine, originally from Yahoo:
Blue Jasmine is written and directed by Academy Award winning filmmaker Woody Allen (Midnight in Paris, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Annie Hall, Manhattan), and keeps the filmmaker overseas in Europe for a story that Rolling Stone describes as "a risky, resonant update on A Streetcar Named Desire. Cate Blanchett leads the film about a fashionable New York housewife amidst some sort of acute crisis. Alec Baldwin, Louis C.K., Sally Hawkins, Bobby Cannavale, Andrew Dice Clay, Peter Sarsgaard, Michael Stuhlbarg also star in the film. Sony Pictures Classics will release Blue Jasmine in select theaters this summer starting July 26th.

Grown ups? Mature people? People who find super hero movies superficial shallow and boring (exaggerating stereotypes about the genre obviously)? People who appreciate good craft as in acting and script writing and story telling? People who appreciate movies that have something real to say about human condition in modern western society? People who are not obsessed by the size of their biceps ? People who are fans of anybody acting in this movie? People with actual working brains between their ears and not just grey matter with basic functionality? ect. ect.
