Fox Taking 'The Heat' from April Release to Summer Debut in June

Briefly: Fox had been planning to bring the Paul Feig directed comedy The Heat starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy to theaters on April 5th, but now the studio has changed its mind. Rather than opening the film alongside Universal's release of Jurassic Park in 3D, ERC Box Office (via ComingSoon) has revealed that Fox is pushing back the film to a summer release on June 28th as some counter programming to Kick-Ass 2 and White House Down opening on the same day. Perhaps Fox thinks they can open The Heat just like Feig's Bridesmaids from the summer of 2011. Kick-Ass 2 has decent buzz, but with McCarthy and Bullock in the leads, it's likely a wise move, though we're disappointed in the delay.

Anything that delays something starring these two directed by this talentless joker is welcome in my book. I hope Kick Ass buries it
