Fox's 'Independence Day 2' Moved From Busy 2015 Summer to 2016

Briefly: Nothing major since this is still so far away, but 20th Century Fox has rescheduled Independence Day 2 from the summer of 2015 to the summer of 2016. The sequel took years to finally come together with Roland Emmerich back at the helm, but it looks like they're holding onto it for another year for production timing and to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the original. If you can really believe it (doesn't seem that long ago), Independence Day was released almost 20 years ago, in July of 1996. The sequel, tentatively titled ID Forever Part I, will arrive on July 1st, 2016 (via BoxOfficeMojo). The summer of 2015 is already overcrowded anyway, with Avengers 2, Jurassic World and lots more. We'll keep an eye on ID2's progress.

Sure to be unfortunate news for the five people who even care if the movie is made or not.

Well, a 20 year anniversary does sound better than a 19 year anniversary.

When i think about Independence Day and that era which i saw it , every pleasures comes to my mind. When First Building Explode , my mind Explode too. Really i was thinking I AM IN HELL. , with all those people who were burning in the flames and explosions. But that time , passed away & "IF" mr.Emmerich wants to impress me again , this time I WANT TO SEE THE DEVIL HIMSELF. TOUGH WORK FRONT

I wasted my cinema dollars in 1996 on the first one. Not gonna fool me twice.

Bring back Randy Quaid, maybe they cloned him like Stephen Lang in Avatar 2. "Hello boys, I'm back!!" "In the words of my generation..." ah forget it, I could quote all kinds of bad lines from this movie.
