Though Ben Affleck may not have gotten a Best Director nomination at the Oscars, Argo went on to win Best Picture which is not only good for the actor-turned-filmmaker, but also the film's producers George Clooney and Grant Heslov. Now The Wrap reports Clooney and Heslov are looking to reunite with Joshuah Bearman, the man whose article in Wired was the basis for the Tehran hostage crisis drama. The journalist has an upcoming article about teenagers who were used to smuggle drugs in Coronado, a resort city near San Diego, and Clooney is hoping to produce and direct a film adaptation called Coronado High.

Details on the full story are scarce since the article hasn't been published yet, but Sony Pictures is already in talks to acquire and develop it for Clooney. There's no guarantee he'll actually follow through on the project, especially since he had once eyed Argo but only ended up producing. In the meantime, this year Clooney is directing, producing, writing and starring in The Monuments Men, which is getting a prime awards season release on December 18th, so we'll probably see him and Heslov back at the Oscars in 2014. Stay tuned.
