Mad Max: Fury Road

Briefly: It looks like we now have an actual release date. Its being reported by BoxOfficeMojo that Warner Bros has set a May 15th, 2015 summer release date for George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road, the return of Mad Max, starring Tom Hardy as the new Mad Max. We've been following this sequel for many years, as it was shot down in Africa back in 2012 but has been stuck in post-production hell ever since, with extensive reshoots and more over the last few years. 2015 is already becoming one of the most exciting years for movies in a while, with the new Star Wars, Avengers and Jurassic Park movies on the docket already. Hopefully this is finally confirmation that we may finally see this new Mad Max within two years anyway.

The latest sequel from George Miller (who directed the original three Mad Max movies before moving onto Happy Feet) has been a long time coming with shooting once planned for 2010 until a delay pushed it back to 2012. The six month shoot was completed in Africa with a big cast including Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough & Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, but extra reshoots and other technical issues have delayed post-production since. On top of rumors of a budget over $100 million, it sounds like Warner Bros let George Miller go all out on this latest Mad Max sequel, with "big rigs, big explosions, big car crashes, big violence". We'll keep an eye out for updates leading to the summer of 2015.

Good grief. Hope it lives up to all that. Pre-production started in '03... talk about pulling teeth?! Can't wait though.

Anyone else who sets a movie for 2015 should be institutionalized.

If it doesn't have Tina Turner in it, it's got to be better than Thunderdome.

I challenge you in Thunderdome to say that!

Ditto. It's also multiplatform (360, ps3, ps4, PC). As a Just Cause fan (also Avalanche Studios,) also very much looking forward to this one.
