Golden Globe Awards

The winners of the HFPA's 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, the precursor to the Academy Awards, have been announced tonight at a ceremony held at The Beverly Hilton hotel, hosted by the talented Tina Fey & Amy Poehler. Our list below will be updated with all film-related winners as they're revealed during the ceremony's live broadcast. While the 2013 Oscar nominees left many confused and upset, the Golden Globes nominations this year were yet again a bit odd but not unexpected, though I'm always curious to see who the HFPA gives the award to in the end. What do you think of the 2013 winners? How is the ceremony with dashing young hosts Tina Fey & Amy Poehler? Are these an early indicator of any Oscars? What favorite movies from 2012 are you rooting for?

Thoughts: While I don't care much for the Globes, I was hoping this was their chance to highlight a few good standouts, including the Cloud Atlas score and Joaquin Phoenix in The Master (who still has a shot at the Oscars). But instead of them winning, it was a steady stream of surprises. I'm happy that Tarantino's Django Unchained got Screenplay, that Ben Affleck got Director, and Jessica Chastain/Jennifer Lawrence both got Best Actress. I was not expecting Argo to win Best Drama, but it's a great film so why not. At least Affleck gets his victory after getting snubbed by the Oscars. Good winners, but nothing to write home about.

Agree, that was amazing. But, I am slightly confused, was there a "goodbye" in her speech?

Wow, affleck and Argo winning, what a surprise! This just made the oscars that much more interesting. I'm happy for Affleck, it wasn't my pick but he deserves it.

Extremely happy that Argo won. It was my favorite movie of the year. I was also pleasantly surprised Tarantino got Best Screenplay. I was also happy that Christoph Waltz got Best Supporting because he was amazing in Django and his character was so well written and likable

As much as I enjoyed Brave, the mythos and everything else, I still haven't even watched Wreck It Ralph and I reckon it will be better.
