Is the Man Who is Tall Happy?

Earlier this year, MIT held a special screening of Michel Gondry's new documentary Is the Man Who is Tall Happy?, a unique journey into the mind of American linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, and political activist, Noam Chomsky. Now IFC Films is bringing this film to theaters next month, the official first trailer is here, complete with fantastic illustrations from Gondry to help bring Chomsky's thoughts and words to life. Leave it to the director of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Be Kind Rewind to do something so unique with a doc like this. It looks like it will be trippy visually and mentally. Watch below!

Here's the trailer for Michel Gondry's Is the Man Who is Tall Happy?, originally from Apple:

Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Be Kind Rewind) directs Is the Man Who is Tall Happy? which he also wrote with subject Noam Chomsky. The documentary focuses on the life of controversial MIT professor, philosopher, linguist, anti-war activist and political firebrand Noam Chomsky. Through complex, lively conversations with Chomsky and brilliant illustrations by Gondry, the film becomes a work of art that reveals the life and work of the father of modern linguistics while also exploring his theories on the emergence of language. IFC Films released the film in limited theaters November 22nd.

This is very interesting as I just discovered Chomsky recently through a TV interview he did. With a great director behind it this will be a must watch when I want my mind expanded again after watching a Michael Bay movie!

Looks pretty interesting. Just hope it isn't playing the same night as Disney's Fire & Rescue because that looks like real mind food.

I'll definitely be checking this out!

Chomsky is a political nutcase...proof you can be extremely smart in one specific subject and a complete idiot everywhere else

Why is he a political nutcase?

Most people I speak to about politics are nut cases in their little lollicopters.

Saw it at MIT in February. It was fantastically compelling and a visual trip to boot, even stone-cold sober.
