This is getting out of hand. Just last month, the new thriller Child 44 from Safe House director Daniel Espinosa added Philip Seymour Hoffman to an already impressive cast including a reunion of The Dark Knight Rises stars Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman, not to mention Prometheus lead Noomi Rapace and RoboCop reboot star Joel Kinnaman. Now it gets even better as THR has word that The Great Gatsby and Zero Dark Thirty star Jason Clarke is in talks to take a role in the 1950s set thriller produced by Ridley Scott and his Scott Free banner and set up at Lionsgate. So how is Clarke involved with this new thriller?
The film follows a security guard and former war hero named Leo Demidov (Hardy) who unquestionably believes in Stalin's rule in 1950s Soviet Union. But when he investigates a series of child murders, the country strips him of his rank and casts him out in order to preserve the illusion of a crime-free utopian society. Demidov struggles to find the truth behind the murders and the real reason the government is hiding them, thinking that his wife (Rapace) is the only one left on his side, when in fact she has some secrets of her own. Clarke is playing "a snaky man Brodsky who is accused by Hardy of being a traitor," and we can't wait to see him on screen with all these great cast members, especially after sharing the screen with Oldman in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes next year. Sound good?

So Leo is a security gaurd in the movie? That is a bit strange considering in the book he is apart of the MGB, or the russian secret police, before the KGB was set up... In other regards, the cast just keeps getting better with this movie
