During the American Film Market, we learned that Bruce Willis would star in The Prince for Lionsgate Films and Grindstone with Emmett/Furla Films producing and financing. Brian A. MillerĀ (House of the Rising Sun) is directing this story of a retired Las Vegas mob enforcer forced to return to the city and face his former enemies when his teenage daughter goes missing. But as we reported, Willis is playing a man who has been waiting for this mob enforcer to return to town, and is ready for a confrontation. Now Deadline has word that Jason Patric (The Losers) will play the protagonist and John Cusack will also have a role.
In addition, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has inexplicably landed another film role along with South Korean actor and singer Rain, Johnathon Schaech and Gia Mantegna (daughter of Joe Mantegna). We're not sure what to expect from this film since Cusack hasn't really made the best creative choices lately, but this is a lower budget action thriller, and since Willis is fairly picky about his work, this could be worth a look, especially with Patric in the lead. We're not sure when the film will get off the ground, but it shouldn't be too long with the cast full assembled now.
