John C. Reilly Likely Appearing in 'Anchorman: The Legend Continues'

John C. Reilly

This is pretty much a no-brainer, but now we have some indication that John C. Reilly will reteam with his Step Brothers and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby collaborators for Anchorman: The Legend Continues. It's hard to think that Reilly isn't in the original Anchorman, but Reilly didn't start working with Adam McKay and Will Ferrell until after the comedy arrived in 2004. While we don't have word from an official source, Bleeding Cool has noticed a casting call for the film, which is currently shooting in Atlanta, looking for a double that resembles Reilly for a scene that's actually shooting today.

The scene in question is shooting today, and considering that's all the casting call requests other than seeking someone who resembles Reilly, we're betting this is a small role for the actor. After all, McKay did say he wanted a "murderer's row" of day players for even the small speaking parts in the sequel. And it only makes sense to have Reilly show up after working with McKay and Ferrell previously. In addition, Kristen Wiig is already confirmed as a new cast member, and we're hoping to see other people like Jason Segel, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride and more familiar faces show up, if only for a moment. Cool?

That's.... fine, I guess. I like him, but I hope he doesn't rob the group's screen time too much. I kind of expecting that to happen.
