Considering nearly the entire cast of The Expendables 3 is filled with older action heroes, the addition of some younger stars usually raises some eyebrows. The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth was part of The Expendables 2, and now another young adult franchise star will join the ranks as The Wrap reports Kellan Lutz from The Twilight Saga is now in early talks to join the sequel from director Patrick Hughes. However,it sounds like Lutz might not be part of the veteran team as the film is said to introduce a younger group of tech-savvy bad asses who initially clash with the older crew, but eventually team up to save the day.
Knowing that details, prepare yourselves for some jokes about old people not understanding technology. In addition to Lutz joining the cast, a couple more names have signed up to make their feature film debut. Producer and star Sylvester Stallone announced on Twitter that female mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey and welterweight boxer Victor Ortiz have landed roles. Stallone did not say what parts they would play, but they're definitely younger than the rest of the cast, so they'll probably be part of that tech-savvy team. The two are bad asses in their own right with Rousey being the first American woman to take home an Olympic medal for Judo and Ortiz becoming the World Boxing Council's welterweight champion in 2011.
Meanwhile, the rest of the cast includes much of the original action veterans including Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Terry Crews and Bruce Willis. New cast members include Wesley Snipes, Jackie Chan and Milla Jovovich, and while Nicolas Cage was send to be joining the cast, the actor recently told Den of Geek, "I have not had any formal discussions about ['Expendables 3']. And I like those guys [Sylvester Stallone, etc.], but I would say it would be highly unlikely that I’d be in that movie.” While Cage might not be in the film, Stallone did recently seem to confirm Mel Gibson as the villain, so this will still be quite a fun action romp in theaters next August.

I've seen him in Java Heat and he'll fit right in there with Lundgren and the rest. Dear God, that movie was horrible.

Watched Expendables 2 again last night and the best part was the outtakes with JCVD just making up his lines as he went along; he was truly on crack, was hilarious.
