Austenland

"I am single, because apparently the only good men are fictional." Though Keri Russell has been dealing with darker edgy material with appearances in films like Dark Skies and her FX series "The Americans," she took some time for another charming indie, not entirely unlike her alluring turn in Waitress from years ago. Austenland is a romantic comedy about a young woman obsessed with Jane Austen's seminal romance Pride & Prejudice, specifically, the leading man Mr. Darcy as brought to life by Colin Firth. Hoping for an escape, she heads to a getaway inspired by Austen's work, and just may find the man of her dreams. Watch!

Here's the first trailer for Jerusha Hess' Austenland, originally from Yahoo:

Jerusha Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) directs Austenland from a script he wrote with Shannon Hale, based on her own book of the same name. Thirtysomething, single Jane (Keri Russell) is obsessed with Mr. Darcy, as played by Colin Firth in Pride & Prejudice. On a trip to an English resort, her fantasies of meeting the perfect Regency-era gentleman become more real than she ever imagined. Jennifer Coolidge confusingly comes along for the ride with potential suitors including JJ Feild and Bret McKenzie. The film premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and Sony Pictures Classics release it on August 16th this summer. Good?

I love the Director so I'm holding out for this one the trailer didn't do much for me but every time I doubt his films they always surprise me and I fall in love with them I'm just afraid seeing as this isn't "original material" that it may not have the same flare most of his films have! Here's hoping 🙂
