Kevin Hart in Early Red Band Trailer for Steve Pink's 'About Last Night'
Almost exactly a year ahead of the release date, Sony is trying to start the hype machine for Steve Pink's remake of About Last Night as if it were a summer blockbuster. Kevin Hart leads the romantic comedy with the help of Michael Ealy, Regina Hall and Joy Bryant. This first mostly tame red band trailer is forgettable, especially this far out from the Valentine's Day 2014 release date next year, but there's a lot of well-written dialogue that could make this a surprisingly good entry into the subgenre. This will be a test for Hart as to whether he can lead a movie, and while it feels familiar, hopefully it can offer something fresh.
Here's the first red band trailer for Steve Pink's About Last Night originally from Yahoo:
Directed by Steve Pink (Hot Tub Time Machine) and written by Leslye Headland (Bachelorette), About Last Night is a contemporary remake of the film of the same name from 1986. The story follows two couples as they fine new love, journeying from the bar to the bedroom and are eventually put to the test in the real world. Kevin Hart (The Five Year Engagement, Think Like a Man) leads the film with Regina Hall, Michael Ealy and Joy Bryant in tow and Sony releases the film on Valentine's Day next year February 14th, 2014.
The excuse that a film is being remade because of a language barrier was not good enough. Now, films are being re-made for different cultures. Apparently, someone thinks people cannot appreciate storytelling if a cast of a particular race, creed, or color makes up a majority of the cast. Way to go Hollywood on milking every dollar you can!

That needs a big injection of funny, quickly...

The editing of this trailer is sucky, but more importantly why are we seeing a trailer for a film that will not be released for an entire year??

I remember the old version of this, it was quite weird when I watched it. But I think I was only 13. This one looks pretty funny, but I doubt I'll watch it for a while.

I'll wait till the version for Jewish Indonesians is made. Hollywood is so original! I hear that they are green lighting a white version of House Party starring Justin Bieber.
