Kevin Smith Presents Slamdance Award Winning 'The Dirties' Trailer

"The most important movie you will see all year," says Kevin Smith. One of the first films debuting through Kevin Smith's new "Movie Club" distribution company (aka SModcast Pictures with Phase 4) is a Slamdance award-winning indie titled The Dirties. Somewhat controversial, the documentary-like story follows high school kids making a film to get revenge on bullies, but it seems to almost become more than that. While this is only just a trailer, it looks to balance the discussion of a school shooting and a documentary about bullying in a rather bold but smart way. I'm intrigued. This may be worth checking out, give it a look below.
Here's the official release trailer for Matthew Johnson's The Dirties, uploaded via YouTube:
Synopsis: When two best friends team up to film a comedy about getting revenge on bullies, the exercise takes a devastating turn when one of them begins to think of it as more than a joke. The Dirties is directed by Matthew Johnson, from a screenplay by Johnson & Evan Morgan, starring Matthew Johnson & Owen Williams. This first premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival in January and won the Grand Jury Prize and Spirit of Slamdance Award. Kevin Smith's Movie Club will be releasing the independent film in theaters and on demand starting October 4th later this fall. For more info, visit their official website or Facebook page.

Keven Smith is a very acquired taste, and usually not my cup-o'-tea. But this looks very well done.
