Kickstart or Die: 'Darkwing Duck,' 'Family Matters,' 'Sliders' & More

Family Matters

With the success of fans using Kickstarter to fund the gestating film adaptation of the series "Veronica Mars", there's a plethora of fans trying to get their various shows on the big screen, and some of the talent is listening (like Zachary Levi talking about a "Chuck" movie). Yesterday, Funny or Die took it to the extreme by launching Kickstart or Die, with a series of projects they're trying to get funded based on series from the 90s. Honestly, I wouldn't be adverse to a movie for Sliders or Darkwing Duck, but there's also Family Matters, a one-man show with Baby Sinclair from Dinosaurs and a Wings revival.

Kickstart Sliders, Darkwing Duck, Family Matters, Dinosaurs and Wings from Kickstart or Die:

The Dinosaurs one falls a bit flat, but the rest of them are pretty damn great. It's awesome to see Jim Cummings in the flesh and lending his voice to this Darkwing Duck gag, and it's always good to see Reginald VelJohnson in a police officer's uniform again. Fun fact: he actually voiced a character in the Tron Uprising animated series on Disney XD. Tony Shalhoub is hilarious in the Wings campaign video and we're glad Jerry O'Connell got some more work for this Sliders bit. But honestly, if any of these movies were real aspirations, Sliders would be fun, especially with all the sci-fi goodness on the way.

The Baby Sinclair video is the worst of the bunch, since it's very obvious that they didn't get Kevin Clash to reprise the voice. The Family Matters and Darkwing Dark videos are my personal favourites.

"Where's Lowell?" Thanks Tony for bringing back Antonio even for just a few moments. I guess Helen went back to the strip club and was never seen again.

I'd pay to see a Sliders and Darkwing Duck movie for real.
