Legendary's 'The Seventh Son' Now Getting Release from Universal

After being delayed from this past February to October, Warner Bros. delayed Legendary Entertainment's fantasy The Seventh Son to January of next year. However, yesterday news surfaced that the studio decided they were not going to release the film starring Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore and Ben Barnes. This likely has something to do with Legendary leaving Warner Bros. for a new deal at Universal Pictures, which is why THR is reporting that the film will be released by Legendary's new studio home, but it likely won't be coming in January anymore, because the studio now says, "we haven't picked a release date yet."
It's been a long road to release for The Seventh Son, which has many worried about the quality of Sergei Bodrov's film, especially since Warner Bros. was willing to release the film in January. But maybe they shifted the release just to piss off Legendary, which is why they're not releasing the film at all anymore. If Universal switches the release, I'm betting it ends up in March or April, but we'll see. The film doesn't look terrible if the first trailer is any indicator, but it probably has an uphill battle to get audiences interested despite an established book series with a fan foundation. Are you interested in The Seventh Son?

I am not expecting much from this movie. I expect another Solomon Kane or Conan the Barbarian. While I had fun with both of those movies they were both pretty bad.
