Logan Lerman Joins Brad Pitt & Shia LaBeouf in David Ayer's 'Fury'

Logan Lerman

Director David Ayer already has Brad Pitt lined up to lead his new film Fury, a drama that follows five crew members of an American Sherman tank called Fury as they head into battle during the final days of World War II in 1945 as the Nazi regime begins to collapse. In addition, Shia LaBeouf was added to the cast just over a week ago, and now another young talented actor is joining the crew. Deadline has word that Percy Jackson and Perks of Being a Wallflower star Logan Lerman has landed the role of Norman Ellison, a typist who is also the youngest and most inexperienced member of the crew, thrust into being the gunner.

It sounds like QED and Sony Pictures is surrounding Pitt with some big name young talent in order to cover all their demographics. We could be looking at a film with as impressive of a cast as other period war dramas like The Thin Red Line or Saving Private Ryan. We're not sure how many roles are left to be filled, but there are at least two more members of the tank crew to be cast with an eye towards shooting this fall, so more names should be finalized very soon. Either way, I'm already on board, especially with a cast like this working with Ayer after his impressive work on End of Watch. How about you?

With Pitt & Shia, I would have probably have seen it. But with Logan Lerman on board, I AM DEFINITELY SEEING THIS MOVIE. I am a big fan of his work so far. And I am really interested to see how far he can go. The guy is so talented. Just wish the guy would hook up with Emma Watson. Those 2 are just such cool people.

Their professional work is the only "hooking up" Logan and Emma need to do.

Looking forward to this after Ayer's impressive work writing Training Day and writing- directing the riveting End of Watch. It'll be great seeing the talented Logan Lerman take on an adult role and working with Brad Pitt. I just wish Ayers chose Jake Gyllenhaal over Shia. still definitely on board for this one.

Logan Lerman is one of the best young actors working today. Forget the Efrons and Lautners. Lerman is the real deal and its good to see him in major projects like Fury and Aronofsky's Noah

Shades of Inglourious Basterds: Brad Pitt and two Jewish actors (so far).

I love Logan Lerman, but I think he is to awkward to have a role in which he is a gunman... He would shoot someone, feel bad, then run over and apologize and help them. Lerman is one of my favorite actors, but he does best in roles like Percy Jackson and Charlie.

That is why Logan is perfect for the role. If you read the description it said his character is "the youngest, the most inexperienced and he's basically 'thrust' into being a gunman" He will be able to show his reluctance, fear, awkwardness, and innocence early on and later prove himself to be capable, brave and a young hero in the end just like he did in the movies you mentioned.
