Michael Bay Confirms Megan Fox is Cast in Liebesman's 'Ninja Turtles'

Time to call all the nerds. After a very public "break-up" between director Michael Bay and actress Megan Fox after working on a few Transformers movies, the two seem to be getting along again. Last night, Bay posted a message on his own official website stating nothing but "TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!" So there you go, straight from the horse's mouth, Megan Fox is going to be starring in Ninja Turtles, the new TMNT movie due 2014 being directed by Jonathan Liebesman. Is she going to play April O'Neil? Will that character even be in it? According to Variety, it sounds like she really is playing April.
Another follow-up confirmation from Variety states that Megan Fox will be starring as April O'Neil in this newest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes is developing the live-action TMNT, with Jonathan Liebesman (The Killing Room, Battle Los Angeles, Wrath of the Titans) set to direct from a screenplay that has had numerous revisions recently. No other roles have been cast yet, but the April character was a coveted role, and Variety says they talked to other talented actresses like Jane Levy, Anna Kendrick and Elizabeth Olsen before settling on Megan Fox. We expect casting to continue as they aim to start production sometime soon, since the movie still has the May 2014 release date from Paramount.
So Megan Fox as intrepid reporter and Turtles' friend April O'Neil? Come on, that is like a nerd's wet dream. While everything about this sounds like it could be troubled, I'm actually excited for it. I'm a big Turtles fan and I'm want them to go all out with it. I just hope they don't screw up the costumes or other details. We'll continue to keep watch for news related to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, even if you're not excited yet.

Costumes?! I would think they'd be using motion capture and completely CG turtles...

I dug the choice of Liebesman (both the horrible Wrath... and the great TCM; The Beginning was respectful to hat it followed so I dig him and ho he thinks). And Megan Fox seems lika a cool choice to - if she gets to act a bit more than just showing tits bursting through the yellow jumpsuit.

you pass up Jane Levy and Anna Kendrick for this...fuck off

I think Fox gets a bad rap. In my opinion, she's improved significantly since the first Transformers. It is an odd choice for Bay though, considering how publicly disliked she was in those movies anyways.

It appears that there are few directors left that will cast Fox in any type of significant role. It must be killing her that she has to work for this clown again, considering the comments she has made about him previously.

So Michael Bay got her written off of TF3 because they didn't get along and then he hires he for another movie.... wtf?

Aaaand there goes the last glimmer of desire I had to see this. Maybe I'm just jaded after so many disappointing films trying to cash in on my childhood, but I'm done giving my money to filmmakers who seem to miss the point completely. The only way casting Fox even remotely works is if April O'Neil is literally just a set of tits in a yellow jumpsuit, because she's not the actress to go to if you want an actual performance or any kind of depth.

People complaining about casting her, but you will all be first in line for the movie. And that is what it is all about.

First in line? I wouldn't pay a cent to watch this junk in a theater. I don't see this movie having any sort of broad appeal as you seem to be claiming.

I was going to see this but when I heard Megan Fox instant no for me. Michael Bay has killed this movie officially with casting Fox.

AJ you're probably just a bored cynic. It's cool though, I was also cynical before I started doing good things for my life. Maybe you should take up crafting.

Megan Fox is 'hot' an all....but I was never a big Nnja Turtles fanboy, I got out of it at an earlier age than most of the other stuff I loved as a kid. I have very little interest in this movie and don't expect it to be very good.

Each to his own. She wouldn't be in my top 5 or anything...but she is far above the typical girl.

She's walking sex. I hope that some "typical" girl is as forgiving of your statement as you are of how nasty this hoe is.

I'm just talking physically, she's attractive. That's not EVERYTHING that makes a girl. To be honest, Megan Fox seems fairly dumb and rather stuck up most of the time, that's not cool. But to look at her various modeling pictures and say she looks 'nasty' is a bit much. And yes, her body IS better than the average girl...that doesn't mean she's a better person, or a good actress, or anything like that.

They should have saved this announcement for April 1st... At least we still have the 86 Transformers movie and 90s turtle movie.

The 90's Turtles movies were the best. I still watch them and now that I have a child, she digs them too. I gotta make sure to tell her this movie is blasphemy.

Drew barrymore would be my first pick.. But what do I know? Maybe they can't afford her. Times are getting tight. Cutting cost having to go the cheap route. Not looking at the ending payout
