Michael Caine & Ben Kingsley Joining Brad Anderson's 'Eliza Graves'
by Ethan Anderton

Though we haven't paid much attention to the new Brad Anderson thriller Eliza Graves set up at Millennium Films, it's hard to ignore with the cast that's been assembled for the film beginning produciton in June. Based on the short story The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether from Edgar Allen Poe, the story follows a recent medical school grad who takes a position at a mental institution and soon finds himself taken with one of his beautiful colleagues. But the circumstances surrounding his feelings for her may make things complicated. Kate Beckinsale and Jim Sturgess are leading the film, but there's more!
Deadline has word that Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley have now taken roles in the period thriller written by Joe Gangemi. The two veteran actors will be playing staff members of the hospital, with a story that feels like a British spin on Shutter Island right now. Anderson's position behind the camera doesn't inspire much confidence, but The Call did have a hell of a lot of suspense, despite the generic nature of the thrills. But with a cast like this, maybe the stars will align and we'll get a nice film. Oh, and Mel Gibson and Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity) are producing, so that's interesting. What do you think?
