Briefly: After news broke yesterday that George Clooney's WWII ensemble The Monuments Men (trailer) wouldn't be ready in time for its December release, Sony/Columbia Pictures has rescheduled the movie for a February 7th, 2014 release instead. Clooney was quoted saying the effects wouldn't be done in time and they didn't want to release a half-finished film. To fit Monuments Men into that February slot, they had to push back José Padilha's RoboCop remake (trailer) from the 7th to the 12th. It will now open on February 12th, 2014, the Wednesday before Valentine's Day (Friday the 14th). In related news, David O. Russell's American Hustle will open in wide release on December 18th after starting limited the 13th. Stay tuned.

I think it'll be worth the wait. Monuments Men, not that terrible-looking RoboCop remake.
