More Tony Stark in Short TCL Promo Spot for Marvel's 'Iron Man 3'
"I'm so sorry I put you in harm's way…" You've gotta love cross-promotion, especially when it's between huge Chinese electronics manufacturers like TCL and, of course, Marvel's Iron Man 3. A short 'n sweet new 30-second promo spot for Iron Man 3, directed by Shane Black and starring Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, has debuted online. It's essentially just another TV spot (to compliment the one we got during the Super Bowl) showing some footage from the movie, and lingering on shots of TCL devices, because why not pitch you some electronics you don't need when you're just trying to get excited for a movie. Have fun!
Iron Man 3 is directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) working from a script that he co-wrote with Drew Pearce. Actor Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark and Iron Man in this sequel described as a technological crisis thriller in the midst of international war, taking place after the events of The Avengers. Sir Ben Kinglsey is playing Iron Man's arch nemesis Mandarin and Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Dale Dickey, Ashley Hamilton, James Badge Dale and Jon Favreau all co-star in the Marvel Studios production. Disney is bringing Marvel's Iron Man 3 to theaters starting May 3rd this year.
Hah, they changed the flip phone to something more modern.

In other trailers, it just looks like an error, same reporter, cellphone type/brand switching in his hand in-between the shots. We'll have to look for that boo-boo on release 🙂

Am I the only one who sees nothing new here? It actually looks less interesting than the second one. Or pretty much the same.
