Back in the spring, we learned that Scarlett Johansson was going to kick some ass outside of the Marvel universe again with The Fifth Element and The Professional director Luc Besson for his latest action thriller Lucy. The film follows Johansson as the title character who is forced to become a drug mule. But rather than just carrying the drug, it enters her system and turns her into a lethal vixen who can absorb knowledge with ease, move things with her mind, see into the future, and doesn't feel any pain at all. Now The Wrap has learned Morgan Freeman is in talks to take a pivotal role in the action thriller. Read on!
Freeman is currently negotiating a deal to play a professor with extensive knowledge on evolution and the capabilities of the human brain. Lucy is on the hunt for this noted professor as she thinks he might be able to help her before she dies. Besson also wrote the script for the film, and this will be a quick follow-up to his most recent directorial effort The Family, formerly known as Malavita, starring Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones (watch the first trailer here). This project certainly sounds like Besson's style, and with Johansson in the lead, it should be sexy as well as action-packed. Sound good?
