Must Watch: Franco and Girls in First Two 'Spring Breakers' Trailers

After the first theatrical poster arrived last week with a release date set for this spring on March 22nd, two trailers have finally debuted for Harmony Korine's off kilter gangster vacation film Spring Breakers. There's a domestic and an international trailer showing Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine and Selena Gomez getting a little naughty in more ways than one as they try to get money through a string of robberies. The line "pretend it's video game" might stir some trouble if this film should ever get news attention, but otherwise this looks original and interesting. At least the cast looks fun. Enjoy.

In Spring Breakers, Brit (Ashley Benson), Candy (Vanessa Hudgens), Cotty (Rachel Korine) & Faith (Selena Gomez) have been best friends since grade school. They live together in a boring college dorm and are hungry for adventure. All they have to do is save enough money for spring break to get their shot at having some real fun. A serendipitous encounter with rapper "Alien" promises to provide the girls with all the thrill and excitement they could hope for. Harmony Korine (of low key indie films like Trash Humpers and Mister Lonely) wrote and directed Spring Breakers, which premiered at TIFF 2012 and the Venice Film Festival. A24 Pictures will be releasing Korine's Spring Breakers limited in NY & LA starting March 22nd this year.

Must watch?? Whoa, that was some stretch ethan :p I like seeing girls in bikini as much as the next guy but this...yeck... James Franco looks like a poor man's Aaron Paul. How many times can you use "Y'all" in a trailer before it gets stupid? The answer is much less than what was used here. And just when I thought it was bad enough...dubstep...ok..."this is as bad as it gets"...britney spears a cappella....nuff said

This is the exact opposite of what I was expecting this to be. I don't mean that negatively, but I can't say it looks great. Franco however looks like he might pull off a great performance.

..this is a minor issue ...there is a real problem with america...the appetites and fears of the military industrial complex combined with wall street and banks which are apparently above the law....but the shallow youth culture certainly does not help...where is the activism of the 60s?...oh yeah...on facebook ...

Yeah this looks....uh well odd. Maybe they're trying to poke fun at that whole spring break, trashy, dubstep, fratboys going "fuck yeah" vibe? i don't know. Could just be a dumb spring break movie lol

I guess I was expecting something different from Korine. Unless these ads are deliberately deceiving and trying to attract some unsuspecting MTV viewers, I'd have to say it looks pretty bad. And Franco channeling Drexl isn't exactly working for me.

Besides Franco, a collection of some of the most overrated teen actors/singers in the biz. The ONLY reason people would watch this is...ass. Come on. A bunch of sub 20 year olds running around half naked with guns. Yeah. Sounds like the director might have some issues?

1) James Franco made me want to wash my eyes. Holy crap he looks sleazy in this film. Could be a good thing. 2) As much as people are shitting on this trailer.... I actually think the Britney touch at the end was genius. Former Disney girls gone bad? Hammer to the face guys. 3) Not a huge Korine fan (even met him once... seems really oddly cool though) but this seems like a sort of departure from his other stuff (I cant stomach Gummo). I'll go by your word Alex.

James Franco has white trash drugs/arms dealer nailed (see: Pineapple Express). Harmony Korine has skewering the American psyche to the point of parody nailed (see: Trash Humpers). Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez and whoever the other two are have wearing bikinis nailed. I have great faith in this.

Ethan says "Must Watch" because his dick went ape shit when he saw Selena Gomez in a bikini and doing lesbian things. This movie looks like utter shit. All I ever got from watching the trailer was LSD, dumbstep and straight to VHS. Not DVD, that's how shitty this movie will be.
