Joseph Kosinski

Briefly: Following the success of his original sci-fi action flick Oblivion this year, director Joseph Kosinski is teaming up with the producer of another sci-fi flick from 2013 for a new film. The Wrap has learned that Media Rights Capital (the company behind Neill Blomkamp's Elysium) has picked up an action thriller written by Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rodgers which Kosinski is attached to direct (he also came up with the idea for the film). There's no title or plot details, but the project comes from the writing duo behind Shadow Runner and the forthcoming AMC series "Halt & Catch Fire." We're not sure when Kosinski will get this project moving, since he has The Twilight Zone in the works, but stay tuned.

I love sci fi but Oblivion and Elysium were both meh.

Didn't see Elysium, but I feel the same about Oblivion.. even though I loved Tron: Legacy to pieces. Blame pretty much has to square with Kosinski since it was supposed to be his magnum opus, that he conceived and directed. Even still, I think he's an intelligent filmmaker, he needs to find the right writer to work with and let them run the show a bit too.

Totally. Both were bland and forgettable.

Well, they were no where near perfect, but at leas Oblivion is one of the top movies this year for me. Nice throwback to the old sci if classics.

Is this a sci fi? It's the only thing I need to know right now!
