Charlie Hunnam

Hot on the heels of the recent news that Emma Stone would be heading into horror with Guillermo del Toro for his new project Crimson Peak just set up at Legendary Pictures, one star from the Pacific Rim collaboration between the production company and filmmaker is coming along for the ride as well. Variety reports that Charlie Hunnam, who can also be seen on the FX series "Sons of Anarchy" is in talks to take a role in the horror film. Plot details are still under tight wraps, but the project is looking to start shooting in February of 2014, which likely means a release in late 2014, but more likely the first half of 2015. Read on!

All we know so far is that this is supposed to be some kind of horror throwback for del Toro as he seems to have his eye set on big set production value. There have been rumblings of Crimson Peak being a haunted house set story, and del Toro has hinted at such by calling it "a very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story." If it's anything like Pan's Labyrinth or The Devil's Backbone, count me in, but I think this one might be somewhere in the middle. Either way, it sounds like a very promising project and there's likely more updates on the way so stay tuned.
