After years of producing the found footage Paranormal Activity horror franchise, including the spin-off Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, Gregory Plotkin will take position as director of the forthcoming sequel Paranormal Activity 5. Deadline has word that Plotkin will make his directorial debut with the horror sequel arriving in October of 2014. Aside from his work in the successful horror franchise which started in 2009, Plotkin also worked as an editor or assistant editor on some big films like The Break-Up, Friday Night Lights, The Insider and he also worked as a visual effects assistant editor on Pleasantville.
We're still not sure where the fifth sequel will take audiences, especially considering the end of the last film really upped the ante as far as the spirit world. The franchise might be running out of steam, but they're cheap to make and always make big bucks at the box office. At the very least, these films have launched the careers of some promising new players behind the camera. Producer Jason Blumhouse has gone on to horror hits like The Purge and Insidious, and now spin-off director Christopher Landon just landed Boy Scouts vs. Zombies for his next project. We'll see if Plotkin can ride this wave to bigger things too.

Let the milking continue, this will be like the saw franchise but possibly with more installments and of course with spin offs

Usually I'll watch any Horror film that hits theaters, but after the unimaginative 4th film I'm done with this franchise. Actually I'm done with haunted house genre.
