Professor X Fires Wolverine for Being a Terrible X-Men Team Member

October 15, 2013

While it certainly takes the fun out of entertainment, there's no denying that comic books and their film adaptations are full of plotholes and leaps in logic. But suspending your disbelief for a good time at the movies is part of the fun. However, every now and then, it's just as much fun when someone decides to rip open those holes for comedic purposes. Comedian Pete Holmes has a new late night show this fall on TBS, and while we don't cover television shows, one of the promos for the program features a pretty damn funny sketch with Holmes as Professor X, as he decides to fire Wolverine for being rather ineffective. Watch!

Here's Pete Holmes' Ex-Men (with NSFW langauge) sent our way by "The Pete Holmes Show" on TBS:

This isn't the first time Holmes has taken aim at an iconic superhero for the sake of comedy. On CollegeHumor, Holmes has taken up residence as Batman (with a simultaneously funny and accurate impersonation of Christian Bale's voice), where he learns some interesting lessons from villains. The most recent one features Patton Oswalt as The Penguin and Batman doesn't realize that most of the time, when he assaults bad guys, they end up dying. Furthermore, he doesn't really seem to understand the concept of death in general. If this is the kind of stuff Holmes is putting together, we'll likely tune in October 28th.
