Kill Your Darlings Teaser Trailer

"Let's hear a bit, shall we?" We've been waiting to see a trailer for this Sundance hit (our review), now we finally have some footage to share. Sony Classics let out a short teaser trailer for John Krokidas' Kill Your Darlings, the beat poet period drama starring Daniel Radcliffe as Allen Ginsberg, Dane DeHaan as Lucien Carr and Ben Foster as William Burroughs. As great as it is to finally see something from this, the trailer seems to cut off right when it's getting interesting. In addition to Radcliffe, DeHaan and Foster, the cast includes Michael C. Hall, Jack Huston, Elizabeth Olsen & Jennifer Jason Leigh. Enjoy this first glimpse.

Here's the very first teaser trailer for John Krokidas' Kill Your Darlings, found via Awards Daily:

Original Sundance synopsis: An untold story of murder that brought together a young Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs at Columbia University in 1944, providing the spark that led to the birth of an entire generation. Kill Your Darlings is the feature directing debut of John Krokidas, a Yale and NYU film school graduate. The screenplay was co-written by Krokidas and Austin Bunn. The film first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival (read our review) and was acquired by Sony Pictures Classics during the fest. For now, Kill Your Darlings is set for limited release on October 18th this fall. Stay tuned for a full trailer.

Thats not a teaser, its like someone decided to just cut the trailer off after 30 seconds. those 30 seconds looked good though!

Ah, but it's a tease of a trailer... 🙂 We'll update once the official version comes out.

Are you actually saying Alex that this is a trailer for a trailer?

axalon on Aug 3, 2013

Haha nahhh, I was just joking. 🙂 Just playing along for fun. It's a half of a trailer, but I thought it was worth featuring as a "teaser" anyway. We'll update and post the full trailer once it's officially released.

Don't joke about this stuff Alex, trailers are serious business!

It's a tease for a trailer. Then in a few days/weeks they'll release the teaser trailer. Then the trailer, then a teaser for a clip, then a clip, then the movie comes out. Then there's a trailer for the DVD release, then the DVD release. What a tease! I honestly wouldn't be surprised at this point if 2-second tease-teasers start popping up in the industry. "The Sout-" wow I can't wait to see the teaser for the trailer for the film that I still don't have any idea what it's about!

And you are... "Harry Potter"

Not too shabby.

Doesn't look bad. I think it's funny somehow, that at the end of this clip they were discussing about tradition and form, and the possible question of just ignoring those - and then there's the sudden cut :-).
