Ryan Reynolds Feeling 'Selfless' for Sci-Fi Thriller from Tarsem Singh
by Ethan Anderton

Just recently, Ryan Reynolds gained some lovely co-stars in the form of Anna Kendrick and Gemma Arterton for the dark comedic thriller The Voices, and later this year we'll see him in R.I.P.D. (watch the trailer) with Jeff Bridges. That's on top of his success in The Croods which just landed a sequel. Now it sounds like Reynolds is moving away from the bigger studio pictures for his future slate. Deadline has word that Reynolds is in early talks to star in Selfless, a new film from The Immortals, Mirror Mirror and The Fall director Tarsem Singh, set up at Endgame Entertainment and FilmDistrict, and it sounds pretty cool.
The script comes from Alex and David Pastor (Carriers) and follows a rich old man who recently discovers that he's dying. So in order to cheat death, he plays to have his mind transplanted into a younger man's body, a cadaver whose "previous inhabitant" was murdered. Then the man finds himself being hunted by killers as he tries to figure out who killed him in the first place. The concept is really interesting, however I'm unsure if it's the old man trying to figure out who killed the younger man, or if there's some remnants of the young man, like his soul, in the body, helping to drive the old man's motivations in the younger body. Either way, this body switch movie has to be better than The Change-Up, right?

Wasn't that an episode of Tales From The Crypt? If not, there was an episode very similar to it.

I haven't seen The Change-Up, but I can bet it will look better 🙂 Looking forward to some new Tarsem, although Reynolds is not really an actor I particularly like..
