Sadly this year's Oscar hopeful The Monuments Men from director George Clooney was pushed back to February 2014. That likely puts it outside of any Oscar chances for that year (unless it pulls a Silence of the Lambs), but maybe a long-deveoping film from Clooney's Smokehouse Pictures can get the job done at some point down the road. The Wrap has word that Our Brand is Crisis, the political comedy adaptation of Rachel Boynton's 2005 doc of the same name has life again, this time with Clooney's Gravity co-star Sandra Bullock in early talks to lead the film about American political strategies being used in Bolivia.

The documentary followed real-life consultants James Carville and Stan Greenberg, but it sounds this film will follow fictional political consultants instead. The film is described as a satirical comedy about American spin doctors competing in the same Presidential election in the South American nation. Bullock would play “Calamity” Jane Bodine, a retired American political consultant who often quotes famous people to help hammer home her talking points. Sadly, Clooney doesn't seem to be directing this one, but the script comes from his The Men Who Stare at Goats scribe Peter Straughan (hopefully it's better than the satire on display in that misfire). Clooney's producing partner Grant Heslov says, "Everything sort of has its time, and I feel like with Our Brand Is Crisis, its time has come.”
