After voicing an adorable brat with candy in her hair for Wreck-It Ralph, comedian Sarah Silverman is getting into some live-action comedy on the big screen again. Heat Vision has word that Silverman is negotiating to play a prostitute in the western comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West with Seth MacFarlane directing and starring in the film which he also wrote with his Ted scribes Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. The story follows a cowardly sheep farmer (MacFarlane) who chickens out of a gunfight, causing his woman (Amanda Seyfried) to leave him. But that's just the beginning of the farmer's problems.
The mysterious wife (Charlize Theron) of an outlaw rides into town, helps him find courage and makes him fall in love all over again. But when the woman's husband, a dangerous outlaw played by Liam Neeson, comes back to town, the farmer must stand up to the criminal to defend his honor. So how does Silverman come into play? She will take the role of a prostitute who has gotten her fair share of business for better or worse. She'll do pretty much anything she's paid for, but she will not have sex with her fiancé because she's a Christian who believes a couple should wait until marriage before consummating their love. And that fiancé is the role Giovanni Ribisi took not too long ago.
This kind of comedy is perfect for Silverman whose big screen roles haven't been as plentiful as her small screen work. 2011 saw her in both Take This Waltz (a more serious role) and The Muppets for a quick cameo, but Silverman has also been seen in films like School of Rock and Evolution. This sounds like one hell of a comedy with a cast like this, and it'll be interesting to have a seasoned comedy writer and actor venture back into the west. It'll be hard to shake a stick at something like Blazing Saddles, but it'll be funny.

Maybe if we see Silverman naked? but not "I'm surrounded by fat women in a locker room" naked.

I think you confused the word "better" with the word "worse". I, personally, have never found even one word that fell out of her mouth funny, I find her vile, unfunny and unattractive. Will probably avoid this movie based solely on her being in it.

Yeah, big turn off every time she shows up on screen. Bad casting decision!

Ouch, that's pretty rough to say about anyone and I don't like when people discourage artists. That being said, I find Sarah Silverman charming, attractive, and hard working. I think voice acting is more her forte, but I find her to be quite pleasant all around.

I agree with you. I think she's one of the funniest comedians out there right now. Jesus is Magic was hilarious, as was her show. Glad she's in this.

One of the funniest female* comedians...I don't think she compares to Louis or Burr.

Have you seen Way of the Gun? If not, watch the opening scene. Your hatred of her will be satiated.

Adorable brat? She was the worst part of the movie.
