The Legend of Hercules

When the first trailer for The Legend of Hercules starring Kellan Lutz was release, it went by the title Hercules: The Legend Begins. But apparently Summit Entertainment liked the new title better. If it feels like this film is being marketed very quickly, you're right. The first trailer just arrived over a couple weeks ago, and now a second full theatrical trailer is here. The film was picked up for distribution and set for a very early release swiftly, so the film is getting pushed fast and hard before arriving in just under a month. It still looks generic, and we doubt Lutz has the power to make this a success, but that's just January for you.

Here's the second trailer for Renny Harlin's The Legend of Hercules, originally from Apple:

The Legend of Hercules is directed by Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2), who also wrote the film with Daniel Giat (Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee), Sean Hood (the new Conan the Barbarian) and newcomer Giulio Steve. In 1200 B.C. Greece, a queen gives birth to a son, fathered by Zeus, who is destined to overthrow the tyrannical rule of the king and restore peace to a suffering land. But this prince, Hercules (Kellan Lutz), knows nothing of his real identity or his destiny. He wants only the love of Hebe, Princess of Crete, who has been promised to his brother. When Hercules learns of his greater purpose, he must choose: flee with his true love or fulfill his destiny and become a true hero. Summit releases the film on January 10th, 2014.

They like "The Legend of Hercules" better than "Hercules: The Legend Begins" because they don't have to awkwardly explain why the legend didn't "continue" with a sequel after this fails to make its budget back at the box office.

I feel like 'The Legend Begins' was only considered as a way to cheaply associate it with the Hercules movie coming later in the year, as if this were some sort of officially unofficial "prequel" to that film, or something.

A much better trailer...seems like an effort to polish a turd at the very least.

What's with the charisma-free cast?

Well, I guess the ordinary man 1200 B.C had a lot more muscles than what we're used to now.. Also why are they trying to be 300?

Isn't that the same music used in the trailers for Clash of the Titans, Conan: The Barbarian, Immortals etc.

I think they used the same footage also.

It's an epic movie which means the power, battle, love, courage, arena are presented in grand scale. Love the trailer.
