"You are the key to our survival." If you're interested, Screen Gems has revealed the second, full theatrical trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, based on Cassandra Clare's book of the same name. Another fantasy action-adventure young adult series, Lily Collins stars as Clary Fray, a seemingly normal teen girl who learns she is a "Shadowhunter", a group that hunts invisible demons. The cast includes Jamie Campbell Bower, Robert Sheehan, Lena Headey, Kevin Durand, CCH Pounder, Jared Harris and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers. Warning: it doesn't look that great, but I'm sure you already expected that.
Here's the second full trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, in high def from Apple:
Harald Zwart (The Karate Kid, Agent Cody Banks) directs Mortal Instruments: City of Bones written by I. Marlene King and Jessica Postigo and based on Cassandra Clare's book of the same name. Lily Collins (The Blind Side, Priest) plays Clary Fray, a young woman who discovers she is the descendant of a secret cadre of half-angel warriors called "Shadowhunters" locked in an ancient battle to protect the world from demons. Robert Sheehan, Kevin Zegers, Aidan Turner, Jemima West, Godfrey Gao and Kevin Zegers also star. Sony's Screen Gems arm will release Mortal Instruments in theaters starting August 23rd this summer. Anyone?

It's actually not a paranormal romance at all. I'd say its a mix between supernatural and Harry potter

I know it's going to get thrown into that category, but hopefully people will stop generalizing it that way. The books are not a teen romance masked in a "supernatural" light - these books are legit.

I've read all of the books, and compared to most urban fantasy, they read like 'teen romance with a plot' to me. The trailer looks good to me because it doesn't focus on the relationship of the protagonists the way that the books did. If you'd like really wonderful Urban Fantasy, I would suggest the Dresden files.
