The Expendables 3

We've seen Harrison Ford on the set of The Expendables 3 with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and now the teaser trailer for the 2014 action ensemble has arrived. With no real footage from the film, a line-up of silhouettes turns around to reveal this insane cast that also includes franchise stars like Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews and more, along with new faces like Antonio Banderas, Kelsey Grammer, Wesley Snipes and Mel Gibson as the main antagonist. It's the perfect tease for fans, and mindblowing for those who didn't know they were together for action. Watch!

Here's the teaser trailer for Patrick Hughes' The Expendables 3 from Lionsgate:

The Expendables 3 is directed by Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) and written by Sylvester Stallone and Olympus Has Fallen scribes Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt. Barney (Sylvester Stallone), Christmas (Jason Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill…or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables, but Barney has other plans with a new era of Expendables team members, younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The film arrives on August 15th, 2014.

That theme song is just golden

Great Escape theme tune was for allied soldiers escaping the Nazi's. The Expendables are mercenaries, isn't their music more like death metal?

It's the theme from The Bridge over the river Kwai!!!!

Ah, I was mixing up my tunes, that was the one we'd sing 'Hitler, has only got one ball, the other is in the Albert Hall, His mother, the dirty bugger, cut it off when he was small'. Same sort of idea though.

Don't know where you got Great Escape from. That is definitely The Bridge on the river Kwai theme. It actually suits if you think about it. Though this film probably won't get as many accolades, it's a good teaser.

It's the first strain of the British marching tune "Colonel Bogey", made infamous in the classic film "The Bridge on the River Kwai".

I really like the idea of having Mel as the main villain. He doesnt take on too many of these roles but i know he has the charisma to be a real asshole villain. Look forward to it.

He was also the villain recently in Machete Kills. Hopefully he is not recycling through the same character personality type again and this one will seem different. Machete Kills wasn't really all that good anyway.

I love robert rodriguez but some of his movies arent that entertaining to me. I never really gave Machete a chance because i just didnt find anything interesting about 70 yr old Danny Trejo carrying around a machete knocking off mob bosses. I guess in a sense its just one of those "just sit back and enjoy the movie" types of movies but im already burnt out with those. So its comforting to hear i didnt miss anything with Machete Kills. I really want Robert to do more work like Desperado, Sincity, and Dusk till Dawn (but without the silly vampire stuff in the end).

Truly epic and amazing teaser trailer. Just plain and simple to the point, The Expendables are back! Totally washes the memory of that garbage Interstellar trailer out.

Oh god no, not again. Lets just all play that we didnt see that last sentence from Charlies comment, and continue on with our lives, please.

Does it look like I am complaining? I am pleasantly happy that yes we finally have a better teaser trailer than that one now. I also am looking forward more to Expendables 3 as I know it will be the better film.

Own your feelings Charlie. Of course you're complaining about the Interstellar trailer. Why would you even attempt to argue against it? Silly man.

Indeed, no point in complaining about Nolan again. Especially since you totally got it wright about the Expendables teaser.

I take it your mom did both crack and meth while pregnant with you...it's actually impressive that you can use a keyboard given the large number of congenital defects you're working with.

These Expendables movies have been a real fun surprise, if you can go into them for what they are and not expect it to be "schindler's list" then you can have a lot of fun. Can't wait.

Cool to see Patrick Hughes is directing. I enjoyed Red Hill quite a bit. Wonder how he'll handle such a massive cast. I'd hate to see a lot of these actors get completely lost in the mix. The big ensemble team up seems to be the 'in' thing at the moment.

YES!! I love these movies, so excited for this! Just a little bummed there's still no Rourke.
