It sounds like Adam McKay and Will Ferrell are going all out for Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. In addition to confirmation that Kristen Wiig would be joining the cast in some capacity, an actor not exactly well known for his comedy roles might get in the mix. AICN has word from one of their readers that Terrence Stamp mentioned his potential involvement in the sequel. While taking questions at a screening of An Unfinished Song (formerly known as A Song for Marion), Stamp said he was in early talks with Will Ferrell's people about playing a media mogul like Rupert Murdoch, the head of News Corp.
At this point there's no formal offer, but Stamp said that he'd love to be in the film. Since production begins in the spring, you can expect some official news on this potential casting soon along with what will likely be a whole slew of other comic actors on board. Writer and director Adam McKay recently said they wanted a "murderer's row of the best day players ever." That means you can expect a variety of comedians and big cameos in the film. This will likely be the comedy event of the year, but the movie has to come together quickly if it's going to hit the December release date later this year.
