TGB Episode 154: Welcoming Summer 2013 (Guest: Brian Salisbury)
by Tim Buel
May 3, 2013
On this week's episode of The Golden Briefcase, Tim and Jeremy are joined by Brian Salisbury of Spill.com and Film School Rejects to go through their latest picks of the week, the newest in DVD & Blu-ray releases, new trailers for Zal Batmanglij's The East and Eli Roth's Chilean horror Aftershock and much more. The main topic of the night was a discussion on the movies coming in Summer 2013, in honor of Marvel's Iron Man 3 hitting theaters this weekend. The guys go over all the movies they are most excited for, what they are dreading and which filmmakers will be recognized at the end of the summer. Listen in!
The Golden Briefcase is also broadcast LIVE on Wednesday nights starting ~7:30PM PST. You can listen in via our Ustream page or by visiting our own live page right here on FS. The podcast is just as fun to listen to live while it's being recorded, with plenty of special guests, so I suggest you tune in the next time it records.

I'm not into Rom-Coms at ALL....but I found Silver Linings Playbook to be HILARIOUS. I kept hearing about how it was kind of depressing, and maybe I've got a darker, more jerkish sense of humor...but my friends and I(2 gals, 2 guys) were all rolling during the movie. But the best thing about it is that the humor all comes from realistic scenarios and situations, it's not slapstick...and when it decides to get serious, it gets serious and works. Very much in the style of the Fighter...non-comedy that gets plenty of laughs, but the subject matter is totally different, obviously.

Brian Salisbury.. Isn't that the guy that's always in the chat room? 😉 Anyway, I wouldn't recommend Silver Linings I hated it. As far as blockbusters go I really look forward to F&F 6 and Zack Snyder's Man of Steel.
