Visit Newton Haven! Why? For its gardens, fountains, roundabouts, but most importantly… beer! Fans of Edgar Wright know that his latest movie, The World's End in theaters this August, is the third film in his Cornetto Trilogy with Simon Pegg & Nick Frost and is about some crazy shit that goes down while old friends are catching up for beers. The movie is set in the quaint British town of Newton Haven and Focus Features has organized a promo for it that actually involves a (virtual) pub crawl. To kick off the event, they released a fun little viral teaser video and some early Comic-Con details. Grab a pint, kick back, and enjoy!
FirstShowing is one of 12 different movie websites participating in the virtual pub crawl for Edgar Wright's The World's End - a "scavenger hunt". One mile, twelve pubs - The Glorious Golden Mile. Our introduction:
Starting today (July 1st), there will be 12 different websites revealing the sign for each of the 12 pubs. Keep your eyes open for these signs, as they might mean something in the end. We have one to debut in just a few weeks right before Comic-Con kicks off in San Diego. If you're attending San Diego Comic-Con this year, check out The World's End panel in Hall H on Friday, July 19th with Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright. Follow @TheGoldenMileCC to collect 12 limited edition Golden Mile pub trading cards, as seen in this online pub crawl scavenger hunt, for a chance to see a screening of The World's End after the panel.
If you haven't seen the latest trailer for The World's End, see it here. There's also a featurette explaining Edgar Wright's Cornetto Trilogy. The film hits theaters in the UK on July 19th, and arrives in US theaters starting August 23rd this summer. For more updates, visit their Facebook page or follow them on Twitter.
