This Faux Trailer for Disney's 'Warplanes' is Better Than Real 'Planes'

Earlier this year, Disney released their lackluster spin-off Planes, set in the same world as their Cars franchise, one of the biggest parts of the House of Mouse's merchandising to young boys. Something felt off about all of the trailers, and the film wasn't really a runaway hit (after all, Pixar wasn't really behind the film), but now we know why. It just needed to be a little more gritty. The production company Cinesaurus has a YouTube channel called Gritty Reboots where they take popular video games, TV shows, comics and more and turn them into gritty, cinematic trailers. And that's how we get Disney's Warplanes. Watch now!

Here's the faux trailer for Disney's Warplanes from Gritty Reboots (via SlashFilm):

Planes is directed by Klay Hall ("King of the Hill," Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure) and follows Dusty (Dane Cook), a small town crop dusting plane who longs to enter the most epic around-the-world air race despite his fear of heights. But Dusty's not exactly built for racing, so he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. The voice cast also includes Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards, John Cleese, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Brad Garrett, Gabriel Igelsias, Teri Hatcher and more. Disney Animation sends Planes to Blu-Ray and DVD on November 9th in time for Christmas.

Compelling. Riveting. Breathtaking.

LMFAO. Imagine the years of therapy a seven year old would have to go through after watching their beloved characters go blind, defecate bombs and slowly burn to death from a a well-placed bullet in the engine. Too bad they put Disney on the credits page, this video will probably be ancient history a week from now.
