'Thor: The Dark World' Strikes IMAX Theaters First on October 30th

Briefly: While Marvel's sequel Thor: The Dark World will hit theaters everywhere on November 8th, the film will arrive a little earlier on a bigger screen. Marvel and IMAX have just announced that Chris Hemsworth will return to Earth as the god of thunder on October 30th, exclusively on IMAX 3D screens around the world. For those keeping count, that's over a week early. Anymore, sending a blockbuster to IMAX screens isn't surprising, especially since most people will fork over the extra money even if the film wasn't shot natively on IMAX cameras. Still, it's cool that the film will arrive earlier on the giant screen.

With the official wide release set for November 8th(Here in North America at least)...this is a full TWO weeks earlier...pretty crazy. They obviously want to have as much lead-time on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire as possible.

Hahaha I have no idea what I was thinking. My logic was 'November 8th is a Friday, November 1st is a Friday...this is before that....soooo two weeks before'

From what I can see, this is only internationally - not in the US. Which is really a shame.
