Tina Fey & Steve Carell Still on 'Mail Order Groom' But Not Until 2014

Tina Fey and Steve Carell

It's been over three years since we've heard anything about the comedy Mail Order Groom which Tina Fey and Steve Carell attached themselves to at the end of 2009. This was when Date Night was coming up on release, so the project has been gestating for awhile. Since Carell and Fey both had their own respective TV gigs of "The Office" and "30 Rock" keeping them busy, getting the film together at the right time was rough. Now that their involvement on both series is out of the way, it sounded like the project might finally happen. However, Deadline reports scheduling has pushed the movie back to 2014 at the earliest. Read on!

After finishing their TV series work, both Carell and Fey decided to jump on more than a few projects. Carell has had more time to get some together and is concentrating solely on his film career for now, and he'll be busy with Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day set up at Fox with Cedar Rapids director Miguel Arteta recently inheriting the project. The actor also has some sort of FBI wedding comedy in the works as well. Meanwhile, Fey has the female lead role in The Muppets…Again! and roles in This is Where I Leave You and The Nest. Hopefully 2014 is the right time for this reunion to happen again. The story follows a naive single woman who can't find love and ends up with a husband from Eastern Europe, bringing him home to the good ole United States. Sounds perfect for Fey and Carell. Stay tuned for more.
