Topher Grace

Briefly: One more interesting choice for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar project, finishing up its casting before shooting later this year. Deadline is reporting that Topher Grace will take an unspecified role in the sci-fi movie. Grace was last seen in Predators, The Double, The Big Wedding and The Giant Mechanical Man and recently finished shooting The Calling and A Many Splintered Thing, but hasn't been in too much otherwise. The cast for Interstellar already includes quite a few fantastic actors: Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck and Michael Caine. The script was originally written by Jonathan Nolan, updated by Christopher Nolan and will "depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding." Cannot wait for this one. Launching November 2014.

Nolan can tease a performance from Topher.

I don't know about this cast. I'm just not big on McConaughey and especially not Topher Grace. Can this finally be the movie where Nolan really disappoints? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

He likes being bad. It makes him happy. Sure, he is the lesser actor when compared to the impressive cast but he'll probably play a small role and that might work out just fine.

I remember when Heath Ledger was thought to be an odd choice for The Joker...when people didn't think there was anyway that someone with 'A Knight's Tale' under his belt could live up to such a great character...and he delivered arguably the best portrayal of the character yet.

Seriously. Type cast all his career, then someone gives him a chance to act and does some actual directing... & boom. It's funny how folks think it's always the actor / actress.

Interesting casting for sure. Don't really care. Would likely watch a Nolan sci-fi if Miley Cyrus was the lead. (k. That's stretching it. Probably not literally. Probably not.)
