Universal Moving 'Bourne Legacy' Sequel Forward with Jeremy Renner
by Ethan Anderton
August 2, 2013
Back in February, Universal indicated they were planning to move forward with a sequel to The Bourne Legacy following Jeremy Renner as the Operation Outcome agent Aaron Cross who was targeted for termination. With the help of one of the program's doctors (Rachel Weisz), Cross was able overcome his reliance on medication that kept his biological enhancements of his body and mind in check. Now his story will definitely continue as Deadline reports the studio has hired Anthony Peckham (Sherlock Holmes, Invictus) to script the follow-up that takes place in the universe of The Bourne Identity franchise. Read on!
Producer Frank Marshall has expressed hopes that Renner could get teamed up with Matt Damon and his Jason Bourne character somehow. However, the actor of the original trilogy was skeptical about making it work saying, "I love Jeremy and I'm a huge fan of him and I know him personally and love him outside of work, too. But I just don't know what that story would be. I could never see Bourne teaming up with anyone." Of course, Damon is an accomplished screenwriter, so it's not as if he's without creative thoughts, but maybe someone can crack the story. It would make for quite a match-up. Thoughts?

They really need to get a straight actor for this role.

It absolutely makes zero difference if he's gay or not. However, read the news. You might learn something: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/04/jeremy-renner-blasts-gay-rumors_n_1403859.html

"I could never see Bourne teaming up with anyone" Well that's what would make it interesting. God forbid you give the series a kick in the pants.

Imagine 2 bournelike badasses taking on a buncha swat team or something, if directed right and not pg13 pussified, that would be worth the price of admission alone

one simple story is that one is lured back with promises of redemption - only if he kills the other renegade . they joust and then join forces . Lame yeah but YOU would see it ....they did lay the groundwork for a meeting already tho , with 'Kent Kitsom " watching a news story about Treadstone and Bourne so this is just Damon spreading distraction looking for a reaction ....

Betcha Outcome-5 Aaron Cross & Jason Bourne team up against Byer(Outcome-2) for next Bourne Legacy sequel. Seems only logical. Guess Outcome-7-8-9 were lost to the viraling out process & were also refit geriatric as well...

The first three Damon-Bourne movies are great. An instant classic trilogy. Wasn't interested in the fourth one at all.

Eric Byer IS Outcome-2. That's why Byer states that they have the science, the betas, the data. Byer's is the geriatric experiment to test using older program integration. Buyer jogging in the rain, obvious exclusion of the mention of Outcome-2's termination, European Theater fulfills Program parameters. Buyer must be Outcome-2 for Bourne Legacy sequel...
