"Gravity. They say you can't fight it. Well I disagree." Since playing multiple characters in Cloud Atlas didn't exactly land with great success and acclaim, maybe Jim Sturgess can turn some heads with the new sci-fi project Upside Down. The films is set in an alternate universe where twin worlds exist on top of another, and they're separated by the laws of gravity. It's a sci-fi Romeo & Juliet as Sturgess searches for a long lost love from his youth, played by Kirsten Dunst. The trailer actually has some really cool visuals and an interesting concept, even if the story itself seems a little cheesy and melodramatic. Watch the trailer!
Here's the first trailer for Juan Diego Solanas' Upside Down originally from Yahoo:
Kept apart from the girl he has loved his entire life, Adam (Jim Sturgess) must fight to reunite with Eden (Kirsten Dunst). But the laws of his world as well as the laws of gravity keep him from her. Adam must risk everything to access the forbidden world of affluence that exists literally above him. As he struggles to keep the authorities from discovering him while manipulating the gravitational force that physically pulls him back to his world, Adam faces insurmountable danger in hopes of finding his long-lost love. Argentinian filmmaker Juan Diego Solanas writes and directs Upside Down which hits theaters March 15th this spring.

When I heard about this last year I thought it sounded pretty tacky, but I found the trailer both very compelling and intriguing.

This is far too reminiscent of an Oscar-nominated stop-motion short called "Head Over Heels"

Already seen it.. the movie's special effects are amazing and the use of gravity has never been done before. Beautiful film and great performances!

Me too. Story was typical 'forbidden slash difficult' love but the effects were great. Amazing cinematography.

Yeah, so, my suspension of disbelief on the whole gravity bit is broken, as all I can think about, is the fact that the liquid she's drinking is just going to go into her nasal cavity, and his arms and hair would be pulled down the whole time. So that doesn't really interest me other than the special effects side. (And yes I get its all a metaphor.) Apart from that the story is just a tale of Forbidden Love, warring nations, blah blah blah. We've seen this before, and the whole chased by snipers thing is kinda meh as well. Might make me go back and watch the Adjustment Bureau again though.

Also, for those who are gravity-based story lovers: Head over Heels Trailer https://vimeo.com/37604847 Reverso https://vimeo.com/44644179 Both seem to try and say more about society than this movie does.

This is such a great trailer(and a yahoo trailer that didn't auto-start? +1) I hope the film is to my liking. Heard some who don't fancy it, but I will lay down the cash to see it. Always support Sci-Fi (and Horror!) 😉

Interesting concept, but why wrap it around a love story !! Regardless, looks interesting.. and as always, trailer too long, shows too much of the story

I'd watch, dunno how I think the movie is gonna hit me but it doesn't really matter I feel Like I'd be surprised either way. Kirsten has been getting into some movie that in my opinion are off the wall for her. Well two but they're so far from what I'm used to seeing from her I notice it more. Anyone see Melancholia? That was a bit supernatural to.
